    Hello,
Since 2 days i can't receive or sent mails with my server.

    I often reinstalled exim
    in the exim_mainlog i read:
2003-08-07 05:42:00 socket bind() to port 25 for address (any IPv4) failed:Address already in use: daemon abandoned
    and:
2003-08-07 05:41:30 socket bind() to port 25 for address (any IPv4) failed: Address already in use: waiting before trying again

When i restart or reinstall exim it starts fine but i can't get any connection to it and from outside their comes no mail.

    in outlook i get:

Task 'mail.hg-hosting.com - Sending and Receiving' reported error (0x80042109) : 'Outlook is unable to connect to your outgoing (SMTP) e-mail server. If you continue to receive this message, contact your server administrator or Internet service provider (ISP).'

I tryed everything and nothing helps maybe someone know any solution my custumers don't receive mail and can't send mail.

    Regards,
    Holger Gundlach

Does your ISP allow port 25? Earthlink for some time, has blocked port 25. You should check this out with your ISP as your first step if running "/scripts/exim4" (no quotes) via ssh don't resolve your issue.

    I reinstalled exim4 offten by /scripts/exim4
My provider is not blocking port 25

I tryed also exim3 but same problems and when i look into the logs i don't see any email traffic with more than 300 clients on that box.

I opend also a ticket and hope the staff will post a solution here because i can't receive mail but my mail programm give no error at pop but i don't received any email the last 3 day's.

Hope their is a fix or someone else how had this problems before and know any solution.

Personally, I would upgrade (again) to WHM 7.4.0 Cpanel .4.0-S12 RedHat 8.0.

Then run scripts/exim4 (again if that don't help). If that don't work, try via your "WHM/Server Setup/Service Manager/exim on another port" to say port 26?

a Graceful Reboot might also be in order!?!

Beyond that, I haven't anything else to offer. It don't seem to be a WHM/Cpanel issue, as I run exactly the same version, etc. without the problems you are suffering. It still appears to be an issue with port 25 as I see it (I've been known to be wrong).

Add to your support ticket to only respond to the email assigned to you by your ISP or whatever@hotmail.com or any other freebie email address until your issue is resolved.

    /scripts/exim4
    service exim stop
    service exim start
    /scripts/fixvaliases
    /scripts/fixmailandakopia
    /scripts/mailperm

if those still don't work, submit a ticket to cpanel.

ok i will wait 24 hours for reply from cpanel then i cancel all my license and take another webhost software more then 300 people can't send or receive emails it's not so importand?????

Maybe you should make a version without bugs instead of 5-6 updates a day with everytime another bug!!!!!!!

    This seems like your problem.

Shut down exim. Run netstat to see if something else is running on Port 25.

The Same Problem - Email NOT Transacting

I am also facing similar problem of email not being transacted in a number of accounts on my Linux Server (RedHat 8.0; CPanel: 7.4.0). The following error is cropping up when I try to deliver the emails manually through the Web Host Manager:

Message 19lMdH-0007ey-Dc is no longer frozen
    LOG: MAIN
lowest numbered MX record points to local host: server.alinnov.net
    LOG: MAIN
== ash@server.alinnov.net R=lookuphost defer (-1): lowest numbered MX record points to local host
    LOG: MAIN
    Frozen

    What is the solution?

Re: The Same Problem - Email NOT Transacting

edit the server.alinnov.net zone from WHM

make sure that the MX records point to server.alinnov.net.

    and not it's IP Address

Also make sure that there is an A record for server.alinnov.net.

do not forget the ' . ' at the end
