    Lot of users add to their mail client setups symbols to their names.

    For example: John Smith : Group®

    When they send emails to my server they are rejected, so if you remove : and ® from the From field they mail pass through the server.

    F=<mail@domain.com> rejected after DATA: syntax error in 'From:' header when scanning for sender: missing or malformed local part (expected word or "<") in "=?iso-8859-1?Q?John_Smith_:_Group_=AE?= <mail@domain.com>"

    Is there a way at exim.conf to modify this??

    Thanks

    That's not an exim problem, the sending email client hasn't been configured correctly as the email address is not in a valid SMTP header record format. In the example show it must had double-quotes surrounding the non-email text, i.e.:

    "=?iso-8859-1?Q?John_Smith_:_Group_=AE?=" <mail@domain.com>
