I must have missed something obvious, but when I setup a domain on its own dedicated IP address it seems it is no longer permitted to relay through exim. the /etc/relayhosts file simply does not store the IP address after the user has connected via POP. restarting services has no effect and my only soultion this far has been to add the IP into the alwaysrelay file, but this is really only a temp fix. Does any one have any idea as to what maybe causing this?

Go on, have a guess
If you're not seeing IP addresses added after pop check that:

1. antirelayd is running

2. The pop requests are being logged in /var/log/maillog

Edit: Or are you referring to some other aspect of SMTP relaying?
