    Hi,

I was wondering if there was a way to set exim so it wouldn't wait for the initial 220 from the receiving server before sending it's EHLO.

The problem I have is :

    Code:
    Connecting to MAIL.eclipsestores.com [142.163.54.210]:25 ... connected
    LOG: MAIN
SMTP timeout while connected to MAIL.eclipsestores.com [142.163.54.210] after initial connection: Connection timed out
    LOG: MAIN
== XXXX R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (110): Connection timed out: SMTP timeout while connected to MAIL.eclipsestores.com [142.163.54.210] after initial connection
I tried connecting manually to the remote server and noticed that it wouldn't send it's 220 until I sent anything. Even if it's a random character.

    Code:
    telnet 142.163.54.210 25
    Connected to 142.163.54.210
    Escape character is '^['

********** Nothing more until I type anything ********
    a
    220 jsml350.JeanShop2003.local Microsoft ESMTP Mail Service, Version: 6.0.3790.211 ready at Fri, 6 Jul 2007 13:37:59 -0230
    500 5.3.3 Unrecognized command

I have no other problem whatsoever with mail on my server. Furthermore, my client is saying that using it's old provider's smtp, they can get mail through without any problem right now.

    Any help apreciated.

    Thanks,

    Frank
