Hi, since last 2 months exim is taking to long to accept smtp connections.

When I try to send an email it takes 20-30 seconds connecting to the server (i'm using thunderbird). First I thought that maybe it was a network problem, so I made a telnet to my server ip to port 25, and then the telnet console opens, but exim don't send welcome message after 20 - 30 seconds.... (pings to my server are taking about 200 ms) So i think that is exim who is slowly attending the petition...

I have updated cpanel to the last current release (scripts/upcp), but it continues being slowly... I don't know what else to do... i have search a lot through forums and I'm not being able to find anything...

someone can help me? Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Jose.

Same problem here...

All our smtp connections time out and we need to authenticate external smtp accounts to send out messages...

Increasing the number of allowed concurrent connections may help speed up
processing time, but will also increase the resources used by exim. You can
raise this via the smtp_accept_max variable in WHM's advanced exim
configuration editor.
