I'm running CURRENT on centos 5. The exim update hung last night (Mar 24). The end-user symptom was that mail clients started prompting for passwords. Did anyone else experience this?

I had to kill -9 the rpm process. (bad, I know) There are other rpm -q's backed up so there might be a lock on my rpm database. The eximup script restarted exim so email service seems to be working.

I'm going to try rebooting the server tonight when it will have less of an impact. Then I'll dig in to rpm and rebuild the db if needed.

Have you executed an eximup since the failure?

If you're still incurring these issues, please open a support request, and our technical support team will log in and investigate this behavior.

I didn't run eximup via command line. I did an update from WHM after rebooting and it went smoothly. I guess I'll chalk it up to bad luck that day.
