Exim Urgent Help Needed

    Since last few hours i've started getting exim errors.
    Tried Restarting and got result as given below.

    Aug 19 02:53:05 host exim: exim shutdown succeeded Aug 19 02:53:06 host exim: antirelayd shutdown

    succeeded Aug 19 02:53:06 host exim: spamd shutdown succeeded Aug 19 02:53:06 host exim: exim startup

    succeeded Aug 19 02:53:06 host exim: exim startup succeeded Aug 19 02:53:07 host exim: antirelayd

    startup succeeded Aug 19 02:53:08 host exim: spamd startup succeeded exim has failed, please contact the sysadmin

    Can any one help me urgently on this.

    What are the errors in exim_mainlog if any? Do you get errors when you restart exim from shell?

    sir,
    thanks for taking time for me, Yes, when i restart from shell i get same kinda error "contact sysadmin"

    server is having high loads and iam not able to use WHM and shell smoothly
    Also tried to update the exim and that also ended with errors.


    Kindly suggest some solution

    Without the information from your /var/log/exim_mainlog it's almost impossible to say what the problem might be. You also need to post the full errors when you restart exim from shell.

    I am also having this same problem, but my EXIM actually restarted ok and appears to be running. I get an error like this:

    mailnull 47 12
    <>

    -allow_unqualified_sender

    This happened last night after the "RELEASE" treet update...all my PHPmailer and SENDMAIL functions do not work as well.



    Here is the sendmail error I get:

    R=virtual_sa_user
    T=virtual_sa_userdelivery: Child process of virtual_sa_userdelivery
    transport returned 127 (could mean unable to exec or
    command does not exist) from command: /usr/sbin/sendmail

    I selected STABLE release in my update,

    then ran UPDATE CPANEL.

    This fixed my EXIM problems.

    I am now running stable version S83

    yes, problem occured only after auto update

    there's something wrong went only after the update which Ran couple of minutes back since this problem arised.

    Weve got exactly the same thing after updating to the latest release version.

    Dont really want to "downgrade" to stable so is there anyway to fix this?

    On another note im not too keen on the new WHM menu layout, i think thats something that should be optional and not forced.

    Just my 2 cents.

    As I said, without exim_mainlog information, it's very difficult to advise what to do, since that is where the information is to determine what problem you have.

    Jim T at ServInt says you can try this:

    ln -s /usr/sbin/exim /usr/sbin/sendmail


    It looks like cPanel's 'Release' tree finally caught up with the 'Current' tree, which is where we've seen this error before. This symlink appears to be removed in the latest update, causing mail to fail.


    I didn't try it, because I rolled back to STABLE...which fixed my problems.

    We can receive mail but cannot send. This happened on Sunday when it ran an autoupdate.

    Well, you've truncated the log output on each line which doesn't help. That said, you should do the usual fix as you're most likely missing /etc/exim.pl:

    /scripts/eximup --force

    The Exact Same Perl Errors

    I get all the errors listed by all the people above and I have forced a reinstall of everything. Running FC4 - CURRENT release.

    Also, exim.pl is there.

    We discovered this bug in FC4 a few days ago and reported to the CPanel engineers. yes, you'll experience intermittent crash of exim and you have to either restart and/or reinstall exim, manually. You'll have to wait until CPanel comes up with a solution.

    FC4 with Exim 4.62

    No one seems to answer if this is now compatible or not, so I am stuck using a very old, buggy version of Exim. Even perusing their website and changelogs reveals no answer.

    FC4 with Exim 4.62

    It DOES NOT WORK! I jjust tested it! WHY? This issue has been in place since day one of FC4! Who do I have to hunt down to get this fixed! It's rediculous, especially knowing all the bugs in 4.52!

    Is FC4 the red-headed step child? Yes Chripy, before you answer I know what you are going to say, why are you using FC4? Because I made a choice based on information available at the time. So how do we get this fixed?

    could you tell me how to install a older version so i can have a working exim , this is so frustrating :(
