eximstats failed -> Tweaked Settings -> now it doesn't change back

Hello,

We used to get "eximstats failed" emails so I followed instructions to check "Use old style (4.0) passwords with mySQL 4.1+ " . The emails stopped but now we get this msg when we try to access our database driven site:

"Warning: mysql_connect() [function.mysql-connect]: Access denied for user 'XXX'@'localhost' (using password: YES) in /usr/local/apache/htdocs/web/config.inc.php on line 63 *** Could not connect to database."

so I unchecked the "Use old style" option but now we are STILL getting this error as if it did not really reverse the settings to be as before. How do I roll back the situation? How to fix this?

If the issue is very urgent, I would recommend you put in a support request with your cPanel licensing provider.

We rent our server from servermatrix and they are good for nothing but taking our money. If I unchecked the correct place, why the settings don't change back to how they used to be before?
