    Hi

    How to turn off exims stats or make it works cause I am receiving over 100 emails per day that "eximstats my.host.com failed". I have configured mysql databases of eximstats and its still broken.

    Pls help....

    Regards

    I have the same problem on 2 different servers now, why bring a new option and not have it be reliable? And the same thing to that even if I disable it it still sends the email over and over and over.

    No fix yet?

    It ads the bandwidth from the emails sent to the accounts total bandwidth quota.

    I believe,

    It's in the tweak settings section and says this:

    Exim Stats Daemon (required for smtp bandwidth logging)

    I too am experiencing this problem after upgrading.

    Even though I have "Exim Stats Daemon (required for smtp bandwidth logging)" UNCHECKED in "Tweak Settings"; I still get eximstats failed in service status as well as a billion e-mails telling me it was automagically restarted (only to fail again!)

    Please can anyone shed some light? Thanks.

    I removed the eximstats user & database and recreated them as indicated in another support thread.

    But I also just got this back & thought this might help someone as well:

    I have edited your /etc/my.cnf such that:

    [mysqld]
    #socket=/tmp/mysql.sock
    socket=/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock

    and added a sym link to it in the tmp directory. Eximstats is running without error now. Let me know if this completely resolves your issue.

    It is now working for me.

    I just find out that...
    ................................
    Starting eximstats: DBI connect('eximstats:localhost','eximstats',...) failed: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats line 258
    Can't Connect at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats line 261.
    ................................
    this file dont exist...

    So, I just symlinked it to the one in /var/tmp
    [/]# cd /var/lib/mysql
    [/var/lib/mysql]# ln -s /var/tmp/mysql.sock

    this works for me :)

    Regards.

    Thanks Cass but that symlink is already there.

    Also the other suggestion above didn't help.

    What a bummer this is, I just set the root email to get deleted by my outlook spam filter.

    Any other suggestions would be great.

    cd /usr/local/cpanel/bin
    ./eximstats

    You'll see the problem. I had to remove my /home/.cpan directory and all contents.

    Install DBI :: DBD perl module twice through WHM and then install DBD :: mysql

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/cpanel restart

    This should take care of it!

    Man I can't believe it won't work even with these great solutions.

    Anyone know how to just gid rid of it, this is the second server it has happened on.

    Here is the error:

    failed: Access denied for user: 'eximstats@localhost' (Using password: YES) at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats line 258
    Can't Connect at /usr/local/cpanel/bin/eximstats line 261.

    Thanks to all the help, I'm just sad that I have to waste time on it, since I have wasted plenty... from the first almost two week support ticket to the current week long errors on issue #2 with eximstats. (venting)

    I guess I just have bad luck.

    Anyways if someone can tell how to clean the junk off my server that would be great.

    also line 261 is:

    DBI->connect("DBI:mysql:$database:$dbhost","$dbuser","$dbpassword");
    unless ($dbh) {
    die("Can't Connect");}

    Which has a perl mod that doesn't even exist, yet the other servers that is fine on say the same.
