I also installed this addon and it totally hosed MailScanner. No email was being delivered:

I had to remove all references to MailScanner from the exim.conf file in order to get the mail moving again.

It has been installed on a number of test servers with no issue please not however that it is beta and can and most likely will cause issues with some setups

If this add-on can only be used with exiscan and not mailscanner then it sucks.

Alot of us are using mailscanner, and refuse to use exiscan.. I hope cpanel allows the module to work with mailscanner.

I know a lot of people did stay with mailscanner but from a performance point of view, especially if you run large mailman lists I recommend moving to exiscan. There is just no comparison between the two. Mailscanner has to open, scan and then drop every mail file. Disk I/O is a serious issue if you look at mailman (see faqs on mailman site). Exiscan does the scanning part without the extra file I/O.
We did some testing and mailscanner would increase the sending of a simple text message on a list with 50,000 people by 2 hours! compared to exiscan.
mailscanner might be easier to set up because of its predefined options but if you want speed and scalability there is no way around exiscan in a cpanel environment.

Can someone from Cpanel verify whether or not mailscanner will work with this new feature?

I don't think they can work together, as both have the same function: detect viruses.

Go on, have a guess
Yup, there's no point in running both. You should decide on the merits of of each applications which you would rather stay with. I know which one I prefer ;) But as cyberspirit pointed out, there are situations where exiscan may be a better solution for some.

This will not work with mailscanner as cPanel does not support mailscanner.

I personally prefer mailscanner in most cases.

I don't see why mailscanner would be so hard to implement. Not supporting mailscanner will cause alot of us who took the time to learn and configure mailscanner to have to switch.. so we can utilize this new feature.

There should be a version of this feature that works with mailscanner. I'm sure a poll will show the how many people utilize mailscanner, and as paying clients we should have this considered and not thrown under the rug.

I don't want to move to exiscan at least for now. It takes so much times to learn how to configure MailScanner to run with spamassassin w/bayes+RAZOR,PYZOR,DCC, and etc. Does it fully support by exiscan?

Now I got clamav errors when upload file through file manager. Apparently, I didn't install clamavconnector module, but do have clamd used by mailscanner. This is definitely Cpanel false. I would more happier if Cpanel stop add new features. I am tired to submit the bug report everyday. This one doesn't have a ticket number. I have enough job to do.
