    Hello,

I just got a new dedicated server and whiling setting it up, I was not able to assign a new IP address in WHM due to not enough free IP's. It made no sense since there are currently two IP addresses on the server and it was just installed by the datacenter. I then went to manually edit /etc/nameserverips and noticed there was already a nameserver listed there. One that I never heard of and absolutely never entered by me.

I then contacted the provider for an answer about that. The answer I got it due to the "Disable whois lookups for the nameserver IP manager." not being selected. Would that account for the above action?

    Thanks for any insight!

    Figured Out. Nevermind...

The IP address was appearantly recycled and the old user of it still has a nameserver record for it.
