I found a thread at http://forums.cpanel.net/f5/external-dedicated-mysql-email-server-32240.html which was too old to reply on, but I still have a question related to the effect of using a remote MySQL server....If i setup an additional remote sql server can I still use localhost as the host to connect to? Will cPanel/WHM know that a mysql connection request to localhost should be sent to the new remote server IP? I ask because if this is NOT the case then I have a lot clients who would have to manually change their scripts to point to the new server.
