    Problem: Cpanel will not install a generated self-signed certificate.
    Version: CpanelX

    The process we used:

    Create a dedicated IP cpanel host.
    SSL Manager->Private Keys->Generate new Private Key
    SSL Manager->Certificates->Generate new Certificate
    SSL Installer->Install/Update an SSL Host
    Select the domain, and the crt and key are populated.
    Do it

    Firefox output:

    SSL Host Setup
    Failed to install SSL certificate on the domain

    IE output:

    None, "Do it" box goes gray.

    Google Chrome:

    Box is gray from beginning, no clickable option.

    cPanelX is not a version. To assist everyone in assisting you, please paste your full cPanel/WHM version information. For example, on a test server I use, that information is:

    WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.7-B27318
    CENTOS Enterprise 4.7 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

    Also, if you are using the x theme in cPanel, try switching to the x3 theme instead and trying again.

    WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-R27698
    REDHAT Enterprise 4 i686 on vmware - WHM X v3.1.0

    I just changed to the x3 cpanel theme and tried with both internet explorer and firefox and received the following errors from both:

    Install/Update A SSL Host
    Failed to install SSL certificate on the domain

    If you have root access to the server, I recommend submitting a support ticket so our technical analysts can more thoroughly troubleshoot this issue.

    I do have root access to the server, would you be willing to link me to some information on the appropriate method to submitting a support ticket?

    Thank you.

    Nevermind, I have found the appropriate method and have submitted a support request to cPanel.

    Thank you.
