eBay sent this message in order to notify you about the upcoming database update

Important message from eBay

Dear eBay Member,

We are pleased to announce that our user database is beeing updated and restored. Unfortunately, we require you to refill your original signin forms so you can keep your username, password and off course, feedback.

eBay keeps you safe by ensuring that the messages you receive in your email, directly from eBay, are not fake (spoof) emails. Furthermore, we can commit to the delivery of important account-related messages and Customer Support responses.Plus a new feature wich includes secured certification.

Remember - it is absolutely necessary for the forms to be filled in correctly!

By updating your user account information we will provide you with:
Important alerts about your account that require your immediate attention.
Member-to-member communication - receive and respond to messages sent via Ask a Question, Contact eBay Member, Second Chance Offer, etc.
Customer Support correspondence and replies.

You will also receive:
Useful information about buying and selling.
News about upcoming activities, events, and new and updated features.
Announcements about the latest buyer and seller promotions (i.e. free trials and insertion fee discounts).
Policy changes and other special notices.
For more information about the database update, read our Frequently Asked Questions or take the tour. As always, we value and welcome your ongoing feedback. While we are not able to respond to all comments directly, they will be read and considered for future enhancements.

To update your account data, click the button below and follow the 3 easy steps:

If the html message is not displayed correctly please click here:

http://signin..................ebay.com-ws-isapidll-message.org/~tarabel/SignIn.html

And this link that they gave me is fake as i entered a load of ******** into all of the boxes and it still accepted it.

So this is someone who is trying to steal peoples ebay accounts and they are using your server to do it.

Please can you ban the user who made the site.

thanks

go to the link and see what they are asking for and then come back and ask that question.

thanks

EDIT: They are not a member of ebay staff and ebay staff never ever ask for any of that information. They are asking for it so they can steal your ebay account.

What does this have to do with cPanel?
Hey david ..you go ahead and hold them down and I will push the "ban" button. we should have done this a long time ago. Think how many crimes we can prevent ..just ban this from the internet and we will be fine.

Whe we get done i need someone to find the "ban" button for spam. Then we as web hosts can downgrade to PII and PII boxes and have overhead from the anti-spam resources we burn!!!

My guess is, somehow the original poster found out the site is hosted using cPanel software so they think cPanel is the host. It's getting quite common. People don't like something, find cPanel somewhere, and assume cPanel is the host.

Browny2k4, cPanel is just software used by many hosting companies. They have nothing to do with actual website content.
