Hi,
I've just upgraded from cPanel 10.8.1-S114 to cPanel 10.8.2-S120 and since upgrading Fantastico is extremely slow both the WHM Fantastico Admin and also Fantastico in my clients cPanel. On average I'm waiting ~45 seconds - ~1 minute for a response to each and every mouse click that's got anything to do with Fantastico.
I've noticed that since the upgrade, there appear to be tcp communications to dn.alphaservant.com whenever any Fantastico operations are taking place. This server was (when I originally posted this at 00:22 GMT 28th May '06) responding very slowly and dropping ~50% of the packets. I've also noticed tcp connections to 69.16.203.64 (which resolves to netenberg.com) which is also exceptionally slow at the moment.
Has something changed in the latest stable that means Fantastico is no longer 'self contained' and needs to constantly contact these remote servers? If so, what happens if they're totally unavailable (i.e. does Fantastico break entirely)? My other servers (which I haven't yet upgraded) aren't trying to connect to these external IP addresses and thus aren't suffering this slow-down.
Any pointers/hints appreciated...
