Hi,

Could someone please advise me as to which in their opinion would be better.

I have a AMD Phenom II X6-1055T with 16GB of RAM if that makes a difference.

I am also running xcache.

I am currently running DSO, but our support has suggested changing MPM from prefork to worker as we keep getting high loads and nobody can track down the reason why.

The error before the load goes skyhigh is

[mpm_prefork:error] [pid 1230] AH00161: server reached MaxRequestWorkers setting, consider raising the MaxRequestWorkers setting

MaxClients and MaxWorkers are set at 250

I am sure we used to be on fastcgi, but maybe this got changed at some point.

Thanks.

Hello,

cPanel only recommends FastCGI if you or your admin is prepared to continuously monitor the usage. This setting does require constant modifications to various settings.

You should read the following thread Troubleshooting High Server Loads which can help you determine the cause.

The MaxClients being reached could also be because of a DDOS attack, which the above thread should also be able to help you determine if that is the case.

Thank you.

Am now running that script, although it sends all messages - hopefully Jeff will respond and let me know where I have gone wrong.
