Does anyone know why the Fantastico pages in cpanel seem to depend on the netenberg.com site (or their other servers) directly, such that it is often sluggish or downright slow even though my own cpanel servers themselves serve normal cpanel pages very quickly?

No doubt if I want a fix or feaure request etc. for this I should probably consult the Netenberg folks, but any useful or informative hints from this forum would be very welcome anyway.

    Cheers! ;)

    Hey there,

Same for me. Netenberg really have a slooooow server. I smell a lack of hardware redundancy and/or a larger pipe.

    <Chants>Cluster, cluster, cluster!</Chants>

Even when I go and try to view their site and stuff, it's sloooow.

    You're not alone.

    Take care,

    Jamie

I am sure it may have to do with there auto-update system via netenberg.com or perhaps a tad slower even more because of sourcegaurdian.

I hear ya, I have always noticed it being sluggish too. I am sure Kosmo is now aware of this, he will do his best he always does.

Any issues with fantastico, you need to take up on the netenberg forums, not here.

Doesn't mean it can't be discussed here Chirpy ;)

If fantastico slow it is because their network is probably have some trouble. You figure millions of cpanel boxes are connected to their network grabbing upgrades, master files, license verification etc etc they could use some updates im sure but have to deal with it in the mean time is all we can do.

It does, if it directly related to their service provision as that is OT.

    Yeah, Chirpy

the thing is, inasmuch as it is working 'through' cpanel I thought I would ask specifically 'why' it cant just load pages from the cpanel server itself, thats all. I undertand updates have to come from Netenberg, but why the install pages etc. in cpanel.

    Anyway...

That's a question only netenberg can answer, which is why asking them on their forums is the best thing to do.
