Few questions on php.ini

    Hey guys, thanks for any help in advance,

    If we update our php.ini file in WHM, would we need to restart any services? reboot the machine? Or does it automatically understand the new config?

    Also, I want the maximum upload limit ( upload_max_filesize ) set to unlimited, does it understand the word ' unlimited ' ?

    If PHP is set up as an Apache module, you need to restart Apache for the changes in php.ini to take effect. However, if compiled as a CGI, e.g. when using phpsuexec, the changes will take effect intermediately and you do not need to restart anything. Either way, have a look at the output from phpinfo() to see if you new settings are active.

    I do not know if one can set upload_max_filesize to unlimited. I suggest you set it to 1G or higher. A large value like that will give you an "unlimited" upload size for all practical purposes.

    No, you cannot use 'unlimited' as unlimited as not an integer. There's some considerations to be made when changing this settings, be sure you understand them by reading the documentation for this setting at:
