When I recently installed cPAnel / WHM It changed my file descriptors to 100 (Per user other than root) but I have a user (IRCd) and I need at least 10240 FDs per proccess there. How can I incrase this?

    I saw: /usr/loca/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/limits.sh &
/usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/bin/limits.csh which have these limits in them. And since have restarted my system a few times. I also changed /etc/init.d/httpd and placed the highest value to the top. Still nothing, any Ideas?

    BTW: I already tried:
    ulimit -n 10240
    ulimit -Hn 10240
    ulimit -Sn 10240
    sysctl -w fs.file-max=65535
    echo 65535 > /proc/sys/fs/file-max

    And still no changes!

    Although this was in 2003,

Have anyone ever come across this problem on a VDS and manage to find a solution for it?

If so could you share it.

    Thanks.
