    What is this file used for? It is getting bigger (1gb+) and I wonder which e-mails are stored there.

    It is usually where undelivered mail for the account goes to. If your server gets an e-mail addressed to tomjones@server.com and that e-mail address is not set up, it gets redirected to the default address.

    To change this go into cpanel for the account and there is a setting for "Default Address". Change it to :fail: and this file should stop growing. Then if you want to reset this file to empty do a "cat /dev/null > inbox" and that will get rid of it... it is probably lots of spam.
