File Manager: Delete inbox as way of "clearing"

Hi folks,

I am a newbie, and "search" didn't address a simple beginner's question:

Some mailboxes have dozens of pages of mail I need to delete,
and the webmail clients seem to allow only a page-by-page deletion process.

How can I "clear" an entire mailbox? Do I delete and re-create the box,
or is there a "clear option"?

On a related issue: If a forwarder is in place on a pop account, will it retain a copy of each forwarded message in that account, and can that be "disabled" to prevent mail accumulation?

THANKS A LOT for giving me a hand here,

Pete

Go on, have a guess
Yes, you can use the file manager to delete the inbox file if you want to empty it of email, however you should not recreate it, exim will do that when it next delivers an email.

If you setup a Forwarder with the same name as a Mail account then email to it will be delievered to both. If you don't want that to happen, delete the Mail account and leave the Forwarder in place.
