We are using cpanel to handle our dialup user e-mails and we needs more functionality than cpanel would provide so I wrote custom scripts to manually update the virtual e-mail passwd, shadow and quota files. Will cpanel try to overwrite these and change them back to a older version and if so any good solution to prevent besides chattr ?

It should not overwrite these UNLESS edited via the cPanel interface and the files use something that cPanel that does not support.

    Thanks

We are using a mysql database to manage the e-mail users and using a script to unlink and rewrite the config files so it should be fully compatiable to cpanel
