When you login as a regular user the owner of the files is a number instead
    of the actuall username.

Where do I find this list of numbers to go with correct usernames ?

I'm tracking a spammer who sent out mail as nobody and all I got is
this number, if it really is this number, from the mailque - nobody 99 32096

So I'm looking for the username to go with 32096 :)

    Anyone ?

    Go on, have a guess
Don't confuse users (UID) with groups (GID).

    nobody 99 32096

99 is the user nobody, which you can check with:

    grep :99: /etc/passwd

32096 is the group, which you can lookup with:

    grep :32096: /etc/group
