I've searched for the answer to this one but there doesn't appear to be anyone else who has experienced quite the same problem.

When trying to change the file permissions either through FTP or the file manager certain files give me a permission denied error. I can change some but a certain few just won't change and I'm stumped.

I've recently set up a new VPS and the same thing is happening on that too.

It seems odd that just certain files can't have their permissions changed.

Is there something I need to tweak so I can change the permissions on any file?

    Thank you Infopro.

How do I do that though? I'm afraid I'm a noob at all this, the hubby does all that sort of thing usually.

In that case I think you'd want to check owner of the files. (chown)
