I have just uploaded my site to cpanel into the public_html folder.
I think thats the only folder I need to touch, but when i type in the site addresse I get the
contents of the publi_html folder showing and not my index page which is named mysite.html.
how can I get it to just show my index page.
Also some other pages left over from another designer were deleted by me.
will I need to get the site reset or is it another simple problem to fix.

Only a simple problem with the file name of the page ?

Try to try to rename the file into

    main.html (main.htm)
    index.html (idex.htm) ;)

More likely the DNS entry are not routed to the
accurate directory of your webfolder. :

    Go on, have a guess
It's not a DNS problem if you can see the files OK.

Most web servers (apache included) require you to name the main html file index.html (or index.htm) so you should rename mysite.html to index.html and it should work just fine.

You should also check such issues with your hosting provider, since you are paying for their support :)
