    Hello,

There's a problem with our WHM firewall. My IP got blocked by the firewall somehow and I need to unblock myself.

However, when I go to firewall ALLOW IP LIST options and add my own IP into it, it does not safelist me. After putting myself in the allow IP list and turn on the firewall, I am immediately blocked.

I cannot find my IP anywhere in the block list either.

So far, I've resorted to turning the firewall off completely but I assume this is probably a security risk so I would really like to figure out why I cannot whitelist myself.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

What firewall is being used? WHM does not have a firewall installed by cPanel. The only areas we have that block and whitelist IPs are WHM > Host Access Control and WHM > cPHulk Brute Force Protection.

    I'm sorry, I'm a beginner at managing a server and using WHM/CPanel.

I'm talking about the "ConfigServer Security&Firewall" option under WHM.
I think the firewall I'm talking about is csf and lfd. And the "Allow IP" option doesn't seem to work at all as whitelisting my IP does not prevent my IP from getting banned. And I cannot find my IP in the blacklist either.

The IP might be listed under the tempip OR tempban file and that is the reason the white list isn't working. You need to check these 2 files and see if it's listed. Also, if you don't want IP to get blacklisted, add it in csf.ignore and restart csf.

Also, since this is CSF, which is provided by another company who has their own free forum, you'd want to post onto their forum if that doesn't work:

    ConfigServer Scripts Forum

I'm closing this thread per our policy that CSF issues would need to be taken up on their forum to ensure we get users going in the right direction. They are really helpful people over there and should be great to work with on their product in helping you out. Good luck!
