Hope someone can help me here, I'm hoping i havent done something wrong, but would like clarification before i go any further.

I setup my new server, got Cpanel and WHM installed and have 4 IPs. The main IP is also the shared IP.

Now, i want to be able to sell space to resellers... But what i find is that if people go to the primary IP it comes up with the first account created on the server.

If i put in, for instance http://111.222.333.444/~username it resolves to http://www.firstdomain.com/~username. Is there a way i can stop it from doing this as i dont want my resellers customers to see a different account on the server. Even though the primary account is a dummy one, ie, nothing on it, but even if it said http://server1.firstdomain.com/~username that would be better.

I've seen this before, but cant get my head around what i've done, or not done.

Thanks for the help, hope my question doesnt sound too dumb.

:)

Ok,

another way of putting this is...

when a user goes to http://111.222.333.444/~username it changes the url to http://www.firstdomain.com/~username . I dont mind this as i have successfully moved a dummy domain to the beginning which describes the server... but how can i get rid of that www and just have subdomain.firstdomain.com in the address bar?

I tried adding a subdomain in Cpanel and pointing the main domain to the subdomain in redirects... but i dont think this was allowed as the subdomain and domain match the hostname. This caused nothing to come up in the browser.

Any pointers are welcome, as this is starting to drive me loopy.

Thanks. :)
