I don't know what is happening, but for some reason, the "fixquotas" utility just hangs. It starts but then just stops for no reason in the middle of it.

    Any ideas?

Firstly, it's worth noting that, since you're replying to a thread that's something in the region of two and a quarter years old, whatever was the issue then, it's possibly quite different now and so you could benefit from adding a more detailed description of your problem.

    I'd suggest the following:

    1) Run /scripts/fixquotas
    2) Check what the script outputs and, very importantly, at what point the output stops
    3) Look through /scripts/fixquotas and see if you can determine at which point the script failed (based on the output it gave) and see if that gives you any clues as to what may be going on.

Alternatively, post the output here and perhaps someone will be able to suggest something workable.

Since you're running FC2, you should also check that you've updated yum.conf with functional update mirrors since FC2 went legacy.
