    Folder structure

    Hi!

I am using cPanel to manage a number of domains and subdomains.

The panel works fine, but I have a problem keeping track of the folders for the domains and the subdomains as they are all created in the public_html folder.

Having 3 domains with about 4 subdomains per domain I get a total of 15 folders in the public_html folder. Adding two more domains would result in 25 folder and so on. And I cannot use the same name for subdomains related to different domains.

Is there some way to create a folderstructure such as the one below instead?

    public_html
    domain1_name
    sub1_domain1_name
    sub2_domain1_name
    ...
    domain2_name
    sub1_domain2_name
    sub2_domain2_name
    ...

    Kind regards,

    Klas Nygren

Yes, but you'd need to edit httpd.conf and change the DocumentRoot directive in the VirtualHost containers to point to the relevant directories.

    Access

Hi, and thank you for your quick reply!

Do I have access to httpd.conf from the cPanel interface? I only have access to this interface and not to the webserver...

    Regards,

    Klas

No, your hosting provider would have to make such changes for you.
