Dear community,

I could use some help finding the problem with forwarding error which happens only at 1 account in the server. The error can be seen in cPanel's "Track Delivery". Email Forwarding is working fine for most of the emails, but for few specific domains/senders there is in error:

Code:
SMTP error from remote mail server after pipelined MAIL FROM:<[email protected]*> SIZE=number*: 550 ip_address_of_the_server* is not allowed to send mail from domain.com*
* - altered data due to safety

Send and recieve emails work fine, the error only occur with forwarding emails.

SPF record on the domains that fail to send doesn't include my server IP address. Meanwhile I have contacted cPanel's support aswell and after they logged in to my server and checked everything, conclusion is the same: SPF record needs to contain my server IP address in order not to get this error.

Unfortunately adding our IP address to sender SPF record is not possible because senders are other companies not hosted by us, and my customer will need to find an alternate solution to forward his emails. Thank you for your reply @cPanelLauren

HI @Morpheus1010

Have you tried enabling SRS (Sender Rewriting Scheme) Support?

This option rewrites sender addresses so that the email appears to come from the forwarding mail server. This allows forwarded email to pass an SPF check on the receiving server.
Also what is the Ticket ID of your ticket with us?

Hi @cPanelLauren,

We haven't tried enabling SRS. Is it safe to have it enabled on Shared hosting server?

Also what is the Ticket ID of your ticket with us?
We have opened a ticket via cPanel resseler website (not directly at cPanel), and afterwards granted access to cPanel's technicians to investigate the issue.

The ticket ID would be helpful if you're aware of it. I can say that without SRS enabled, this is the expected behavior for forwarded mail. The only thing SRS does is rewrite the sender addresses on forwarded mail, there shouldn't be a negative impact unless you have users that are forwarding their mail to an email service provider like yahoo or google etc., this could cause spam to be forwarded and look as though it's coming from your server.

Thats excatly the problem, so many accounts and probably some of them are forwarding to Gmail, Yahoo, etc. It can make server's IP to get blacklisted and unable to send email to some email services.

I am not aware of it because Resseler company contacted cPanel. Anyways, thanks for your replies and effort to help.
