    Dear cpanel community,

I am currently reading trough some guides on how to clear up disk-space on cPanel/WHM installations and I wanted to ask some advise before proceeding and remove the following directories:

    Code:
    /usr/local/apache.backup_archive
    /usr/local/apache.backup
    /usr/local/apache/logs/
    /usr/local/apache/domlogs/
    /usr/local/cpanel/src/3rdparty/
    /home/cpeasyapache
Given the fact that I am not an expert I would like to know what is the best way to perform the clean-up. Should I completely remove those directories or just remove all files contained into them?

Thank you very much - any advise would be highly appreciated,
    Peter

    I assume you're using a / partitian.
Here's a few quick AKA "cheap" ways to quickly free up disk space without much risk

    Hello Peter,

You would not want to remove these directories:

    /usr/local/apache/logs/
    /usr/local/apache/domlogs/
    /usr/local/cpanel/src/3rdparty/

If you remove the logs or domlogs directory, Apache likely won't start as the log files are missing. You could clear them, of course, but you would never want to remove them. At the most, you could move the domlogs to /home or another partition with more space:

    Code:
    cd /usr/local/apache
    mv domlogs /home/domlogs
    ln -s /home/domlogs domlogs
    /etc/init.d/httpd restart
As for /usr/local/cpanel directories, please do not remove anything in /usr/local/cpanel at all. You'll break functionality for various services and, even if you did remove a file not necessary for a feature working, it will simply be grabbed again on the next cPanel update.

    Thanks!
