I need to make a decision soon on which FreeBSD version to put on a server. I think I can wait for FreeBSD 5.3, but don't know what expect from Cpanel. Does anyone remember typically how long it has taken for Cpanel to release a version to match a FreeBSD update in the past?

    Thanks.

It depends on the changes before 5.2.1 and 5.3. I know we are planning on testing next week, but it may be a few weeks before support is out.
I wouldnt plan on seeing FreeBSD 6.0 support anytime soon though

That sounds great. I can wait a few weeks, I was just hoping that we shouldn't expect a couple months or so.

Thanks for the quick reply. :)

I checked with Cpanel support today and asked about FreeBSD 5.3. They replied that 5.3 "should" work perfectly with Cpanel although not "officially supported" yet.

Has anyone installed Cpanel on FreeBSD 5.3 yet? If so, did you run into any issues?

    Thanks!

    Thanks Nick.

I'm just a little nervous because this will be a reinstall of a fairly busy server rather than a new install. I'm just hoping it will happen with as little down time as possible.
