Yesterday my ISP alerted me that they were going to be updating some stuff in FreeBSD on my server.

So I was in WHM and turned OFF the FreeBSD Ports update feature as I didnt want it to harm the work they were doing.

The ISP made its updates yesterday afternoon and all was running EXTREMELY well until this morning when upcp ran.

Now from what I can tell (and I am no Unix expert which is why I use Cpanel, so forgive me if I am wrong) when upcp ran this morning it replaced all the BSD ports with unix ports.

Now because of this my cpsrvd and imap are not working, I get an email every few minutes about this restarting automagically, but they never actually start.

In addition I an error message email with the subject of Cron <[email protected]> /usr/local/bin/python2.4 -S /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/cron/disabled

And the body of the message says /usr/local/bin/python2.4: not found

Is there any way through unix to turn ON the FreeBSD Ports update feature and do a upcp --force to hopefully get everything running again?

I have submitted a ticket already but if I can fix it myself I would be happy. :)

Thanks

Has this issue been resolved?. We would like to upgrade our Freebsd 6.2 boxes to Stable 11 but dont want to clobber the whole system.

To my knowledge the ticket wasn't opened, so i/we don't know what needed fixing.

We've been testing cPanel 11 EDGE on FreeBSD 6.2 for several months now, if that knowledge helps at all. If you have some specific concerns, ask, and I'll see what I can discover.

The update deletes mailman from the system.

/usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/mailman/bin is empty. Is there are tar file to reinstall mailman?
We just upgraded two Freebsd 6.2 boxes last night and the mailman file structure you listed looks fine.
