    FREEBSD Stable 8.8 Fix

    Hi All,

We all know about the problems yesterday with the upgrade.
However, seems any fixes have been for Red Hat and no one seems to think about us FREEBSD users.

Anywho....Here is what is needed if you don`t want to wait
for the stable to become stable.

I have tested the following on three BSD 4.8 machines.

The expired licence is still a problem (even today) if you
upgrade for some reason? How come Nick?

Make sure you have a SSH client open.

    1. ) Go into whm, and choose Change Update Preferences.
Check off Stable, and enable security, cpanel, and ports.
Then save and go and update to latest version.

2.) Once compiled, refresh your browser. You will then see
the licence is expired. Now you have no access to whm/cpanel.

    Run the following as root;
    rm -f /usr/local/cpanel/cpanel
    /scripts/upcp

Once finished, you will have access to WHM/cpanel again.
However, webmail, eximstats will not start.

3.) Go back to Change Update Preferences and change
to Release version and disable security, cpanel, and ports.
Then go back to update to latest version, when finished, all
services will come up and you can even downgrade back to stable they will continue to work.

We checked the MySQL, webmail, password scripts from port 2082 and all seems fine.

    Thanks

Thanks easyhoster1. Your method worked without a hitch. Yes, I did get the expired license upon first upgrading, good thing I had previously read your post and was prepared.

    Thanks again!

    Your welcome Tom.

However, test OScommerce installation and see how it goes
    from 2082?
