    Hi,

One of datacenters I have servers say it's impossible use MySQL on a fresh install of CentOS 7 64 bits + cPanel, because NOW only MariaDB is allowed.

I have more than 10 servers with CentOS 7 64 bits and cPanel running MySQL, but they insist for new install is no more possible have MySQL, only MariaDB.

My question is: new cPanel servers on CentOS 7 64 bits, cant have MySQL, only MariaDB? This is true? cPanel is dropff MySQL?

Note: I know MariaDB benefits, I just want know if cPanel is doing this move, adopting only MariaDB for new installs.

    Thank

cPanel currently supports MySQL 5.6 and MariaDB 10.0 and 10.1. We currently set up all our servers on CentOS 7/64-bit with MySQL 5.6 and have had no issue doing this, so I'm not sure why your host is saying this isn't possible. Technically all you would need to do is set mysql-version=5.6 in cpanel.config prior to install, or on your existing system, follow the below directions but in a complete opposite fashion:

    Vanessa,

Thank and I agree with you, because I have others servers with MySQL and CentOS 7.

The datacenter (a big datacenter in USA) start say this...

If this post can receive a reply from someone of cpanel team, will be great.
