    Try running:

    /scripts/checkperlmodules

Perhaps you need to also force cPanel to update:

    /scripts/upcp --force

I have come across this error in newly installed servers.

The one that fixed my problem is

    /scripts/easyapache . Reinstalled apache .

Before trying that I would recommend you to try the below steps , sometimes it must be httpd startup script causing the issue .

    mv /etc/init.d/httpd /etc/init.d/httpd.old
    cp /usr/local/apache/bin/apachectl /etc/init.d/httpd
    /etc/init.d/httpd restart

Regarding the cpanel startup error you can follow what ChrisRHS suggested .

figured out my problem. I used screen while installing Cpanel and apparantly screen crashed during the install. So i went ahead and formatted the box and made sure that all the basic services were in (duning install of centos) then i went ahead and ran the installation again without using screen and it has gone through and i am up and running thanks again for all your help

    Steven.
