Currently we are using support for FrontPage 2000 but want to load 2002 support. How do we add he new extension support and what directory do we put it in the server. Also, anyone out there have problems with 2002 extentions that are worse than 2000

    Thanks

Not sure how to do it

What directory, just Root? and what are the proper commands to install it.

    Thanks!

Well hopefully your /root directory (/root), not just ( / ), has adeqaute space for the fp2002 upgrade script, which is actually an entire apache build script from the ground up, including php and tons of trimmings.

You can't customize this though, keep that in mind!
All you do is download the file, save it to somewhere that has ample space (make sure there are at least a couple hundred megs available on the partition in question)

and then type &chmod +x fp-5.0upgrade.sea& (filename isn't exactly that)
That makes the archive executable to you (as root hopefully)

And then, just run it like any other executable
    (type: ./fp-5.0upgrade.sea)

If your server was installed with all of the prerequisites this apache build needs, you'll have the latest apache with the latest (stable) PHP, and FrontPage 2002 server extensions, not to mention a few dozen other things.

    good luck

    installing front page

I' having a really hard time installing the FP upgrade.

I took the advice above and getting errors.

    Preparing... ########################################### [100%]
1:frontpage error: unpacking of archive failed on file /usr/local/frontpage/version5.0/apache-fp/_vti_bin/fpexe: cpio: rename failed - Operation not permitted

Can someome PLEASE post detailed proper instructions on how to install this. For some reason, most of my clients use FrontPage. I do not know why they do but I have to get it working.

    Someone please help.
