I've been fielding this issue for a few months now, but I have a couple persistent clients who do not want to go direct FTP, they want publishing (yes, I know...).

Here's the error message they all get:

Any hel pappreciated. I am currently using:
WHM 10.8.0 cPanel 10.8.2-R119
RedHat Enterprise 3 i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

I have uninstalled/reinstalled FP extensions both from WHM and at the account level. I updated cpanel etc.

Any help appreciated!

I am now trying to reinstall the FrontPage extensions as recommended by my datacenter, but I do not know the location of the apache daemon.

Hopefully someone can help this newb =)

Thanks,
Jeff

Most cPanel servers placed the Apache executable at /usr/sbin/httpd Your installation may be different. Try (as root) the following commands at a prompt:

Code:
root@server# which httpd
root@server# locate httpd
As to the bigger problem, FP extensions, try the following at a command prompt as root:

Code:
root@server# /scripts/setupfp5
root@server# /scripts/fpsuexec3
root@server# /scripts/initfpsuexec
I would inform your clients to download the NEW Microsoft BETA replacement for Frontpage. MS is deprecating FP and their new replacement, Web Expression Beta 1, is free for the Beta period. I know that this is not the answer that FP users want to hear, but if MS is tossing FP and its ugly extensions scheme, so should the rest of us. Besides, the new Web Expressions Beta is *more* standards compliant and is very DreamWeaver like in its operation. It does use FTP, but that process is transparent and the user feels like they are editing LIVE sites, just like FP.
