frustrated with FFMPEG

Hello,
Its been more then 24 hours since I've been struggling to install ffmpeg on a dedicated server. I've tried every possible guide that I found on the internet, also a few thread from cPanel forums. Searched on the forums for more then 5 hours and still nothing.

Can someone tell me if there is a definitive guide to install ffmpeg on cPanel empowered servers to run scripts like phpfox, phpmotion? (video sharing / streaming)
