    Hi,
Hope someone can help, as our support for our webhosts, have no idea and told me to google it (although that did not give the answers)
    Here is what we have:
one of our customers has set up a set of folders for FTP. The top folder has an admin ftp account (extranet/ftp) and they have full access.
Under this folder, they then created a number of sub folders (extranet/ftp/user1) (Extranet/ftp/user2) etc
They created a number of FTP accounts with the home of each folder (user1, user2, etc)
Now what they want is for the admin account to be able to upload files to these directories for the users concerned, thats the easy bit, each user can see the file and download it. But they dont want the users to be able to alter the file or worse still delete the file.

So is it possible and if so how would we set this up, so the admin has full access to all folders, but the users only have read access. (also each user should not be able to see any other folder other than their own)

Not sure if I make it easy to understand, so any question, just let me know.

    Thanks in advance
    Karl

At this time, cPanel/WHM only supports the creation of FTP accounts with read/write access to files within their assigned directory. Read-only FTP access is not supported at this time.
