FTP connections not releasing after task completes

I am having issue where my web editor application makes the connection to cPanel ftp application but idles forever and never disconnects itself when file transfer is completed.

I talked to web editor developer and they said cPanel is somehow keeping the connection active and alive so I am unable to kill the connection unless I completely kill the web editor or log on cpanel and kill the connect via FTP setting.

Is there something or a setting that may cause cPanel to keep the FTP connection alive for so long or not dropping it when it idling for a x amount of time?

Hello! I would recommend checking the "Maximum Idle Time" setting in WHM > FTP Server Configuration. The default setting on my server is 15 minutes, but you can lower it if you want idle FTP connections to get disconnected sooner.
