I have a site with hosting company that uses cPanel.

Currently, when I add an FTP account via cPanel, their default is to place it under the /root/html area, rather than the /root/ftp area.

Not only is that pretty unconventional, but it's a nightmare when Dreamweaver wants to synchronize the site, and finds these "orphaned" files and folders (it thinks) that are the FTP activity.

Every other host I've ever used creates FTP account folders in an FTP area, seperate from the HTML area.

This host tells me I'm wrong, that this is the correct way, and implies that's a cPanel default & that nothing can be done.

Can anyone tell me what I might suggest they do to correct this, since they seem clueless.

    Thanks in advance!!

    cPanel Access Level:
    Root Administrator
    /etc/proftpd/username.conf
    and
    /etc/proftpd.conf

Between those 2 files they should be able to change the login root directory.
