    With over 300 accounts on 1 of our servers we are having a problem with 1 account it fails to authenticate ftp i have narrowed this down a little when looking at the ftp configuration for the user it is in the format of..

    Code:
    username:*:uid:gid::/usr/local/username:/bin/bash
    username_logs:*:uid:gid:username:/usr/local/apache/domlogs/username:/bin/ftpsh

    instead of...
    Code:
    username:$1$_M6Sqq9y$mbJk8NSP1H6IC.uOlDZ4c0:uid:gid::/home/username:/bin/ftpsh
    username_logs:$1$_M6Sqq9y$mbJk8NSP1H6IC.uOlDZ4c0:uid:gid:username:/usr/local/apache/domlogs/username:/bin/ftpsh

    As a temp measure i was able to get his cpanel password and edit the ftp configuration for the user so he can connect.

    if the user changes his cpanel login password or i synchronize the ftp passwords it reverts back to this format....

    Code:
    username:*:uid:gid::/usr/local/username:/bin/bash
    username_logs:*:uid:gid:username:/usr/local/apache/domlogs/username:/bin/ftpsh

    Server setup as follows
    WHM 11.11.0 cPanel 11.15.0-C17483
    CENTOS Enterprise 5 i686 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0
