Im using PROFTPD, and everything is working fine. However, I have a script which creates an ftp user in /friends/ and not in /home/. The problem is, when I add the user, public_html and public_ftp get put into their ftp. I was wondering how I can stop this, just for users created inside /friends/. Thanks :D

No sure about as how how exactly your script is.. But you will need to specify the directory path to be "friends" directory. If you can show the script, will help us to check.
Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

I agree with what chinmay said in that it sounds like you aren't properly
configuring the correct home path for the new FTP user that your
script creates and we would need to see your script to tell you what
you are doing wrong in regard to that.

On another related note, I am curious as to why you are using ProFTPd?

That particular server has got a lot of bugs and issues and a few security
concerns and unless you have some special need like an overwhelming
high number of FTP users beyond the normal handling limits of other FTP
servers, I would strongly recommend going to Pure-FTPd which is by far
a much better FTP server all around, uses less resources, and is not prone
to many of the bugs and security issues inherent to ProFTPd.
