    Hello All,
I am experiencing a wierd problem with the ftp. I am ablr to use the ftp login for the main account of my domain but when I add an additional ftp acount nothing works then. I will then manualy edit the password file using htpasswd command and then add this to the passwd.vhosts file. Now please help me to solve this. Whenever a new ftp account added the entry in the passwd.vhosts file is dissappearing. the entry in the username file which is created by the htpasswd command remain intact. Please help!!!!!

    Regards,
    David

    Not sure...

but when you add another mail user you have to enter the domain as well to have it open your mail account i.e. user@domain.com instead of just user as the username.

This may be the same for ftp - cannot check right now as am at work...

    Hi David,

Have you tried running WHM > Synchronize FTP Passwords as this might help. Also, which ftp daemon are you using, pure-ftpd or proftpd?

    Hello chirpy,
That is also a problem. When I do the syncing the password for the ftp wont work. The file paaswd.vhosts get corrupted. Thanks for your response. Any idea?

    Regards,
    David

You could try switching to proftpd and see if that works OK. Or, you could switch to proftpd and then switch straight back to pureftpd.

If neither of those work, then you're probably going to have to log a trouble ticket with cPanel.
