    Hi,

    i got a strange FTP issue. I uploaded a folder via ftp to the server. this folder contains 6000 files, all jpg or flv. the problem is: All ftp software i use, no matter what computer, only shows me the first 1998 files in the folder. the rest seems disappearded. When i login with the cpanel ftp interface i can see all the files! Why is that?

    It is because using an Ftp client, you can only view upto 2000 files but there is no limit for uploading.

    1998 files + (.) + (..) directories = 2000 files.
    . = current directory
    .. = parent directory

    change ftp file display setting

    go to etc/pure-ftpd.conf

    change...

    # 'ls' recursion limits. The first argument is the maximum number of
    # files to be displayed. The second one is the max subdirectories depth

    LimitRecursion 2000 8

    to something like this, which is what I have...

    # 'ls' recursion limits. The first argument is the maximum number of
    # files to be displayed. The second one is the max subdirectories depth

    LimitRecursion 20000 10

    If you don't have root access, ask your provider to change it.
