    I've created a new account in ftp manager using the same username and password. I tried to connect to ftp using the typcial common method I use to connect for the default ftp account but it gives a 530 login error message

    ftp log:

    Welcome to Core FTP, release ver 1.3b, build 1387 (U) -- © 2003-04
    WinSock 2.0
    Mem -- 1,048,048 KB, Virt -- 2,097,024 KB

    Resolving ftp.domain.com...
    Connect socket #504 to 66.6.666.6, port 21...
    220 (vsFTPd 1.2.1)
    USER vtest
    331 Please specify the password.
    PASS **********
    530 Login incorrect.

    Why is this happening?

    I switched to Pro then back to Pure. I restarted FTP. Strange because I know for a fact that the username/password is correct. I tested the same thing on my 2nd server and it works fine there. Both servers same configuration.

    Red Hat Fedora Core 2
    cPanel R15 9.7.7

    No, virtually shared. I tried both IP and domain.com method. I even went back to Stable and still no good.

    Is it just with that one user or all that you create?

    cPanel servers do not run vsFTPd.

    Why don't you submit a support ticket about it.

    Why don't you not respond with your insults to my other thread about them blocking me?

    Suddenly you want me to submit a ticket eh?

    That was sarcasm.

    The part about vsFTPd was fact. If you are in fact running vsFTPd, then you should not be here looking for support.

    Linux, would you happen to know any other solutions?

    I tried a couple of scripts (fixes) but I honestly cannot remember what two they were. Believe me, I've been working on this for about 4 hours now searching the forums, google, and other forums.

    you must be looking at:
    ====================
    /scripts/rebuildproftpd
    /scripts/fixproftpdconf
    /scripts/restartsrv_proftpd
    ====================
