Nick or anyone. This is very weird. I moved an account with the WHM's move account feature, after moving the account to the new server the client could not login via FTP. I checked /etc/proftpd/user file and saw that the first line read &bpanel& instead of &cpanel& as shown:
user:CCCCCSSSSSVVV:31234:515:sonic:/home/user:/usr/local/bpanel/bin/noshell
The client was complaining that he could not login via FTP, so I changed &bpanel& above for &cpanel& and he then was able to login. It turns out that after 3 days the same thing happened. I had to change it again, and it is now happening every 2 or 3 days on its own.
Why is this file changing and what is overwriting it? I have checked its permissions and everything appears to be normal.
This is definetely a CPanel/WHM bug, but I am not sure how to address it.
Thanks for your help.
