FTP Problems after moving account

Nick or anyone. This is very weird. I moved an account with the WHM's move account feature, after moving the account to the new server the client could not login via FTP. I checked /etc/proftpd/user file and saw that the first line read &bpanel& instead of &cpanel& as shown:

user:CCCCCSSSSSVVV:31234:515:sonic:/home/user:/usr/local/bpanel/bin/noshell

The client was complaining that he could not login via FTP, so I changed &bpanel& above for &cpanel& and he then was able to login. It turns out that after 3 days the same thing happened. I had to change it again, and it is now happening every 2 or 3 days on its own.

Why is this file changing and what is overwriting it? I have checked its permissions and everything appears to be normal.

This is definetely a CPanel/WHM bug, but I am not sure how to address it.

Thanks for your help.

Nick please, let me know what is going on with this. How can I fix it and if this is a problem with the account move feature!

Thanks.

I just did a source tree search for the word 'bpanel' and came up with no matches ..do you somehow have bpanel in /etc/passwd somewhere ?

Nope. There is nothing called bpanel on the server. This is very weird. I created this account about 4 weeks ago on one server, I then moved it to this new server and all of the suden, this customer could not login, so I went into the /etc/proftpd/user file and saw that it had &bpanel& in it, fixed it, checked the permissions and then he opened another ticket, went in there again and the same thing. This is actually happening on a daily basis now. I am going to recreate the entire account to get rid of this problem.

Nick,

This user was driving me crazy so I went ahead and recreated his account. The problem has dissapeared after doing that, but let me know if you still would like to look at it and I will send you the login info.

Thanks :)
