FTP sessions open closed

    Hello All Forum Users,

    I checked my /var/log/message and see tons of these in there,

    Jun 17 14:16:45 Cobra pure-ftpd: (?@127.0.0.1) [INFO] New connection from 127.0.0.1
    Jun 17 14:16:45 Cobra pure-ftpd: (?@127.0.0.1) [INFO] Logout.
    Jun 17 14:16:45 Cobra pure-ftpd: (?@127.0.0.1) [INFO] New connection from 127.0.0.1
    Jun 17 14:16:45 Cobra pure-ftpd: (?@127.0.0.1) [INFO] Logout.

    its chkservd checking that your FTP server is up its normal

    this is the output of proftpd, and i mean they are TONS of them. that is normal as well right?/... and are they anyway to stop this?>. or just leave it alone?.. its gonna in time fill up alot of logs... any suggestions on this?.. running CentOS 3.5 with Cpanel/WHM

    should connect every 7 minutes and from what you posted above you are running pure FTP

    i switched after the first post... soo this is all normal.. and there is no way to slow it down or even stop it.. cause in time this is gonna make a big lot of files just with that.

    its noramal "thats what log rotation is for :) "

    if you want to stop chkservd from checking your FTP server

    rm /etc/chkserv.d/proftp

    service chkservd restart
