    Hello,

After upgrading Apache to version 2.2, php to version 5.2.8, mysql to 5.1 and perl to 5.8.8 the server is giving the following error message:

ftpd failed @ Thu Feb 12 09:10:10 2009. A restart was attempted automagically.
    Service Check Method: [tcp connect]

    Failure Reason: TCP Transaction Log:

Any idea as to what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

    Arp

Went to proftp that is working

    Hello,

Went to proftp and that is working, reverting back to pure and pure still is not working. So now it is on proftp which is slower.

Is there any way to force a reinstall of pureftp on the server?

    Thanks,

    Arp Hiemstra

Go to WHM and force a cPanel update. That should clean up any problems.

    Tried update and switch back

    Hello,

I have tried to update cpanel and the problems are still the same, pureftp is not working and proftpd is. Switching from one to the other does not solve the issue. Restarting the server does not solve the issue.

Manual update from command line with force does not solve the issue.

    Thanks

this is exactly what happened to me after the big update. my pure ftpd is failing every few minutes and restarting again because of the monitor but i cant seem to figure out why. this definitely happened after the new cpanel was installed.

I dont want to use pro-ftpd as it doesnt suit my needs and i made a post in here a couple of weeks ago about it but it mysteriously went missing.

Any help would be appreciated in fixing this problem.
